Business Incubation – Should You?

While just looking for an incubation center for a revolutionary idea my niece had, I stumbled across one of the most popular ones in Pakistan – The National Incubation Center Lahore, Located in LUMS. Something really caught up and I decided to fill in the application to incubate my dream project Loading Champions, with no high hopes whatsoever.

Let’s face it, a training company for better upskilling of Human Resources haven’t we already seen enough of these ending up as motivation centers? But since I believed in my spirit to actually handhold people and create a one-stop solution for them, I decided to take the plunge.

It did take a while before I was moved up to Level 2 of application and I had prepared myself to ‘Go back to school’ but this time for my venture. I got a selection email on a Saturday and it was the best weekend I could’ve imagined. Within no time, we all were attending an amazing orientation excited for our own ventures.

Let’s just say that it was not an easy decision to make. I had to take a dip financially as I had to dedicate time here, I started off without any team (luckily I am forming one now with some great minds) and deliverables were something I never wanted to delay. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. My idea was thrashed quite a few times but what it evolved into I don’t think I would’ve done this without support. I got to pivot, practice, re-think and what not. But, how the plan was formalized here, I could not have done on my own.

So I would surely recommend getting your idea incubated before actually going out there. Let it go through some stages of acceptance, thrashing, rejection, revamp and see how awesome it becomes. I will share my experiences on this throughout this week.

Special Thanks to ___ for extending amazing support here. I could not have done it without you guys.

Have a great day!
